Be Responsible. Know the facts. For consumer information, including Consumption Basics such as methods of use and important information on effects, please know the HEALTH CONSUMER INFORMATION OF CANNABIS. The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health has developed THE LOWER-RISK CANNABIS USE GUIDELINES to help Cannabis Users make responsible choices. Their advice includes:
  • Wait until after adolescence to use cannabis
  • Be informed about the product you’re using
  • Avoid smoking cannabis, as it can damage your lungs
  • Keep your cannabis use occasional
  • Avoid using cannabis if you are prone to psychosis or have a family history of psychosis or substance use disorders
  • Avoid using cannabis if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
Be Smart. Organizations have developed online cannabis courses to educate retailers, employees and the general public to support responsible sale practices, ensure compliance with legislation, and reduce or limit harm of cannabis use. CANNABIS NL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS Don’t Mix. Mixing alcohol and cannabis can intensify the effects of both and can have dangerous and unintended consequences. Don’t Drive. Impaired driving is the leading cause of criminal death and injury. Cannabis use of any kind in vehicles, including motorized boats, is prohibited.
